The opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for an ESG Data Analyst to join QIC’s Environmental, Social and Governance team in Sydney. The successful candidate will play an integral role providing assistance and support to QIC’s Investment Teams and the ESG team across a range of ESG activities, providing high quality quantitative and qualitative ESG information to QIC’s clients and stakeholders . Additionally, you’ll support the team’s approach to improve the analytical capability of QIC’s ESG team. You will leverage leading third party ESG data platforms to quantify and monitor ESG risks and opportunities across QIC’s corporate and investment teams.

Reporting to the Strategy Manager, ESG , your responsibilities will span across key areas such as:

  • Review and onboard new datasets, driving ongoing enhancement and efficiency (e.g. through use of automation) to QIC’s analytical ESG capability
  • Create dashboards to monitor and report on ESG risks and opportunities within existing portfolios
  • Undertake research and analysis of company and portfolio ESG risks and opportunities, supporting QIC’s ESG Due Diligence processes
  • Assist in the delivery of key ESG reporting, disclosures and benchmarking surveys including but not limited to QIC’s Sustainability Report, UN PRI survey, QIC’s Modern Slavery Statement and GRESB (aligning with global sustainability standards and frameworks, e.g. ISSB, SASB, TCFD, UN PRI)
  • Prepare and support the data requirements of external data audits as required

About you

You will have a quantitative mindset and demonstrated experience in sourcing, manipulating, aggregating and analysing data from multiple sources. With your prior experience in this space you’ll be highly proficient at managing data sets using Excel, Power Query, PowerBI, R or Python.

You will be Tertiary qualified in either Engineering, Computer or Data Science, Business Finance, Commerce, International Business and/or Sustainability.

You will also have:

  • Previous experience or existing knowledge in the financial services, consulting or related industry
